There are two types of respite care, one is  In-home Respite Care and other is Out-of-home Respite Care. In-home respite care provides temporary care or supervision of a senior so that primary caregivers can take some personal time off. Providers are specifically trained to care for the needs of seniors. On the other hand,  Out-of-home Respite Care provided outside the home may be offered by an adult foster care, adult day care center, assisted living, nursing home, or private residence.

Most clinics, hospitals, health insurance care provides rides and facilities to the seniors who are not able to arrange another transportation system. Some communities also offer bus or van transportation services to the seniors who love to go to the other locations, including field trips, outing, shopping, etc. Many social service agencies also provide rides to seniors for medical appointments and visits to senior centers.
